Call Time
Call time is 1.5 hours before the stage time listed on the lineup. Please have hair, make-up and costuming done at call time. Plan to arrive 2 hours before stage time so you have time to park, get to the dressing room, and get costumes, hair and makeup all prepped. You must be stage ready 1.5 hours before to warm up and work with a coach.
We don’t anticipate the competition to run early, but please stay tuned to Band for updates.
Report to designated area completely ready with hair, makeup, and first costume on, and check in with your coach when you arrive (1.5 hours before stage time).
Dressing Information
We will be assigned a dressing area at the convention center. Stay tuned in Band for directions.
No earrings or jewelry unless it is a part of the costume. No fingernail polish. French tip is ok. Nails should be “Sport length.” No underwear under costumes.
Double knot your shoes. Secure headpiece.
HIGH ponytail with STAIGHTENED hair when a dance requires a ponytail. Even if your child has naturally straight hair, you must use a straightener to get all the kinks out of the hair. Hair must be SLICKED BACK with gel or hairspray. No whispies. Check the costume manual above.
Parents, please report to the dressing room to help change costumes and makeup. When your child is done dancing, it is a good practice to pack up all your costumes and belongings.
Additional Information
Cover your costume with your Surge warm up jacket when you are not backstage or in the dressing room.
Parents are not allowed to be side stage.
There will be at least one coach to work with students before their performance. The coach may not be your choreographer but will help your child warm up and run through their routine.
Each coach will choose one dancer representative to go up and receive the group awards. If your child is chosen, please remind them to KEEP ALL pins or medals and bring them to the studio the following week. DO NOT pass out awards on stage as they tend to get lost easily.
If your routine places in the top announced routines, please stay on stage after awards for pictures.
Competition Announcements and Reminders:
Please download a backup music for your child’s solo, duo and/ or trio and have it with you on a jump drive or accessible on your phone. Click HERE for music link.
Please bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate with you. Officials may request it if another studio questions the age average of our entries.
Make a checklist of your costumes and accessories. Pack a day or two before.
Bring plenty of healthy snacks and water. Bring things that don’t spill easily and don’t stain.
Dancers should get plenty of sleep. Eat breakfast with protein…Parents too!
Please don’t plan tiring events the day of competition.
Give yourself plenty of time to get ready and to get to the venue. Plan to be early so there is no chance you will be late.
Cheer for the Voltage Team! It will just be our team in the audience, so we have to make some noise for our kids!!!

In the spirit of giving back to Dancers Against Cancer we would like to introduce the Plaque Donation Program. If you and your studio are interested and would like to participate in this program, Rainbow will donate the net proceeds of your plaques to Dancers Against Cancer on behalf of your studio.
We thank you in advance for your generosity and donation to help dance educators, choreographers, dancers and their families fight this awful disease.
The DAC Plaque Donation Program is only for general plaques. Your studio and registered performances will still receive all lapel buttons, medals and high point awards. All soloists still receive their individual plaques as well as any High Point Awards. This program is an “all in” option and may not be selected for individual levels and ages.
Your participation in this program allowed a donation of $511.00 to be made to DAC.
Total Donations to DAC from the Plaque Donation Program since the introduction in 2018: $143,108.00.
We appreciate your continued support!
